Gtiles product data sheets

The Gtiles technical data sheets gather all the performance, size, and regulatory compliance data for our products in a single PDF document. They are the reference tool for architects, designers, installers, large-scale retail purchasing offices, and private buyers who need to evaluate a material's suitability for a specific specification or intended use.

Each Gtiles technical data sheet contains the complete set of information required by the UNI EN 14411 standard "Ceramic tiles – Definitions, classification, characteristics, evaluation and verification of constancy of performance and marking":

  • Group classification: belonging to group BIa (unglazed porcelain stoneware with low water absorption, ≤ 0.5%) or to other groups provided for by the standard.

  • Dimensional characteristics: length, width, straightness of edges, squareness, surface flatness — all verified according to UNI EN ISO 10545-2.

  • Physical characteristics: water absorption, modulus of rupture, flexural strength, impact resistance, resistance to deep abrasion (for unglazed stoneware), frost resistance.

  • Chemical characteristics: resistance to chemical attack by acids and bases (ULA/UHA class), stain resistance (class 5), resistance to household chemicals.

  • Safety features: dynamic friction coefficient according to DIN 51130 (classes R9, R10, R11, R12, R13) for the assessment of slipping when shod and DIN 51097 (classes A, B, C) for barefoot surfaces (swimming pools, changing rooms).

  • PEI (Porcelain Enamel Institute) class: from PEI I to PEI V, indicates the wear resistance for glazed floors based on the expected traffic (light residential → heavy commercial).

  • Reaction to fire: class A1 / A1FL according to European regulation (CPR 305/2011) — intrinsic characteristic of ceramic.

  • CE marking and DOP (Declaration of Performance): conformity data pursuant to EU Regulation 305/2011 on construction products.

How to choose the right product based on the specifications

To quickly orient you, here are the most relevant parameter combinations based on the intended use:

  • Internal residential (living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms): PEI III–IV, R9–R10, absorption ≤ 0.5%.

  • Residential exteriors (terraces, balconies, entrances): R11 minimum, frost-resistant, thickness 9–10.5 mm or 20 mm for dry installation.

  • Light commercial (shops, offices): PEI IV, R10.

  • Intense commercial and large-scale retail trade (shopping centres, food outlets, supermarkets): PEI V, R10–R11, stain resistance class 5.

  • Swimming pools and wet areas: R11+B or R12, class A/B/C according to DIN 51097, frost-proof.

  • Industrial and production areas: increased thickness (10.5–14 mm), R11–R13, ULA/UHA chemical resistance.
